Worm Moon
The full Moon in March is known as the Worm Moon.
The name refers to the earthworms returning to the soil as the ground begins to soften, inviting the return of the robins.
However according to the Old Farmers Almanac, further research found another explanation for the meaning behind Worm Moon.
Many Native American tribes referred to the Worm Moon meaning a different kind of worm-beetle larvae.
These type of “worms” would emerge from the thawing bark of trees and other warm places as the earth begins to thaw.
