The Holidays are here!
It’s my favorite time of year! My Holiday count down begins on Christmas Day, 365 days and counting. But I start celebrating in September the minute Starbucks releases their Pumpkin Spice Latte.
Beginning in Fall all the way until the end of Winter is my favorite time of year. The crisp cool air, comfy hoodies, the leaves starting to change color. It’s that time of year I break out the crockpots, (yes that’s right I have more than one crockpot) start stocking up on baking supplies, and wait for the weather to start cooling down.
Fall
The minute October arrives the first batch of baked goods to be made is Pumpkin Spice cookies. Halloween arrives with caramel apples, and then of course November is here in a blink of an eye, which means more Pumpkin Spice cookies, pies and Thanksgiving Dinner.
Christmas
But the real fun begins on Black Friday, the Christmas boxes come out and decorating begins. With less than a month until Christmas there is so much to do. The baking supplies must be restocked and the list of goodies to be made. Every year we try to make something new. This year for 2021 our new item(s) were homemade eggnog and caramel. They all turned out pretty good.
Christmas I have to say has always been my favorite ever since I can remember, and when my daughter was born the Holidays just became more fun. The older she gets the more she too enjoys them. When she was little my Nana bought her the very first Elf on a Shelf, his name is Richy.
I do have to say that I think the Elf on a Shelf has actually become a little more fun since my daughter is an adult now. She still looks for him when she comes over just like she did when she was little, but now she gets to join in the fun of moving the Elf to a new spot. Even Richy looks forward to our annual baking day.
