Ghost Stories are always the best when told by fireside but are even better when experienced firsthand.

Have you ever seen something out of the corner of your eye and thought your eyes were playing tricks on you?

When an object that was originally on the kitchen table suddenly ends up in the middle of the kitchen floor feet away from the table.

Do you go seek out haunted places in your area for a thrill, to make a believer out of you?

Here are some stories of real-life experiences and places visited. If you would like to share your experiences and stories, feel free to drop us a line or post a comment and share with us.

Personal Ghost Stories

-Creepy Black Shadow-

In 2013-2014 I was a single mom and had finally gotten our own place. It was five minutes away from my parents house.

Roughly six months after moving in strange things started happening, they didn’t seem odd at first. But after rethinking things, going back and forth in my mind something definitely was wrong with that place.

We lived on the first floor, and we had one of those buildings that had floor radiators that ran across the baseboards.

Black Substance-

We had those type of floor radiators that sat along the baseboards, and when we turned them on for the first time that winter this black smoke like substances covered our walls.

I was able to wipe it off but at some point it go so bad that it was covering our everything in our apartment including the water that Jordyn’s goldfish was in.

After several complaints to the leasing office they sent out maintenance to only tell us the radiators are old and will do that sometimes.

Not taking concern to the fact of our health and that we were breathing this in.

Little Red Spiders-

As the months went by we dealt with the black substances, I got an air purifier to help and just didn’t have the heat on high when I was at work.

When the weather was starting to get a little warmer in the coming of Spring. Suddenly these tiny little red spiders would show up all over my windowsills.

They were the worst in the master bedroom, so once again off to the leasing office I went.

I was told they would be spraying soon to prepare for spring etc.

Great another excuse but ok we’ll see how this goes. Um yeah not so much!

Either they forgot to spray or they just didn’t come out.

These little red spiders had taken over my whole windowsill in the master bedroom, it was an infestation.

I did what any normal person would do and I researched what these tiny little red spiders are.

I learned they are called Clover Mites which are found mostly in grass next to the building foundation. In dry, warm winter weather. LOVELY!

Creepy Black Shadow-

Well, if things couldn’t have gotten any worse, they did.

I have my own thoughts and suspicions of ghosts, spirits and other dimensions. (More so now than at the time of this story).

However, nothing could’ve prepared me for what I saw this night.

We were just a few months from the end of our lease and the house was a mess with boxes etc. as we couldn’t move fast enough.

The weather was getting warmer so we could finally turn off the heater, bonus right there. But on this particular night something was strange.

It was another weekend that Jordyn was with her dad, thank goodness as she was too young to experience this.

I have no clue what time it was, I just know it was early morning, and suddenly it got cold in the house. I mean COLD.

So I just bundled up with a few more blankets as I was not about to turn that damn heater on again. NO WAY!

That wasn’t cutting it, the temperature just continued to drop by the minute. Mind you it’s Springtime, so even though it was still cold at night this was not a “normal” cold.

The temperature continued to drop and at this time is when you start thinking of all those things you hear from people or TV shows when spirits appear, that the temperature drops.

They say it feels like you are in a walk-in cooler and boy I tell you what it was most definitely that cold, believe me I’ve worked in the restaurant business I know what a walk-in cooler feels like.

Did I just See that?

At this point I was intrigued, yet terrified at the same time.

What do I do? I open my eyes and see this black-like smog in the corner of my bedroom on the ceiling. I immediately pull the covers over my head like a little kid.

Like anyone else would do I then pulled the covers down to look again, cause you know I sure as hell did not just see that.

Yep, I did because it was still there, and it was creeping along the ceiling towards me.

The covers went back over my head, the panic set in, heart racing. What the hell do I do?

For the first time in my adult life outside of church I said the “Our Father”. That was the only thing I could think of.

Especially if this damn thing was demonic I really couldn’t think of anything else to do. Cause it was either going to piss it off or ward it off.

All I could do was just lay there and start telling it to leave, that it wasn’t welcome and needed to go. That I had nothing that it wanted.

All at the same time saying the “Our Father” and within seconds the temperature went back to normal, I peeked over the blankets and like it never happened the black shadow-smog looking thing was gone.

I have no clue if it ever stayed or was gone for good.

But all I can say is that I started sleeping in the living room on the couch for the remaining months of our lease until moving day.

I didn’t talk about that night for years, until we were telling random ghost stories at my grandma’s house one night while having dessert and it just came out.

It felt good to be able to talk about it and not have anybody look at me like I was making it up.

Needless to say I have not experienced that again and I’m thankful for that.

Cleansing-

Have you ever had a spiritual experience that just left you with an uneasy feeling? I don’t mean spiritual like visiting with a family member or loved one who has passed.

But an experience like a spirit that shouldn’t be in your house.

Do you know you can do an easy self-cleansing to help ease the uneasy tension you are feeling? Of course this is not for anything more than negative energy.

You can do a cleansing of your space that you feel is affected and or just a cleansing on yourself or both. This is truly based off how you feel and what you think you may need to do to get rid of the negative energy.

There are several ways to do a cleanse but some of the easiest are with a White Sage bundle or Palo Santo stick and a simple saying.

To Cleanse

The simplest and quickest way for those desperate times when needed is to light the sage bundle or palo stick and simply ask the negative energy to leave as it is not welcome. Then banish the negative energy from your space telling it to not return and that you only accept and allow positive energy.

When doing this in your home make sure to have a window cracked or open in every room that you are cleansing so the negative energy has somewhere to go as you do not want it to stay.

How Often?

You can do this as often as needed until you no longer feel the negative energy or negative entities. Once you feel the energy is cleansed and positive again you can cleanse as often as you feel.

Once a week, Once a month etc. it is entirely up to you and how you feel.

A Word of Caution

If at anytime you feel as though you have more than just a negative energy but rather a very negative entity, and after you have tried cleansing the energy still seems present and or continues to come and go.

It would be best to seek help elsewhere. DO NOT attempt to remove the negative entity on your own especially if it has not left after several cleansings. This should be attempted by a professional and by someone with more experience in that field.

Third Bridge “Ghost Bridge”

Urban legend has it that out in the open plains off County Line Road is the Third Bridge also known as the “Ghost Bridge”, which lies over the dry bed of Kiowa Creek.

The Urban stories of the Third Bridge say down this road you can hear the beating of drums, sounds of horse hooves on the bridge, as legend has it this land once held an Indian Massacre.

However current stories are sightings of a young girl standing on the bridge seemingly lost and looking for something. Could this be one of the young teenage passengers that passed at the scene of a gruesome crash back in 1997?
