The Farmer’s Almanac calls the first full moon of the year The Wolf Moon.

This moon usually falls sometime in the month of January to ring in the new year.

The story behind the name……..well it’s simple really. Winter is when the wolves are more active, and you can hear them howling more during this time of season.
