Shepherd’s pie is an easy and sometimes quick dinner. There are several ways to make this dish, however traditionally it is made with ground beef, sirloin or lamb.

Traditionally Shepard’s pie was made with ground lamb and a Cottage Pie was made with ground beef.

As time went on ground beef was the most common choice for filling and lamb was used less frequently.
