Easter Egg Cake Balls
Cake recipe to use:
Using the recipe below, you will shape your cake ball mixture to look like eggs.
You can do this in many ways depending on how thick you want your cake shapes to turn out.
Some ideas on how to do this:
- Using plastic easter eggs as a mold. Spray lightly with cooking spray and use either the whole egg or just half the egg. Put your cake ball mixture into the plastic egg and press to form your shape. Place in refrigerator to allow to set before dipping.
- Candy molds work really well. Using an egg shape candy mold place your cake ball mixture into the mold pressing firmly. Allow to set before removing from mold. Once removed place on cookie sheet and put in refrigerator to allow to set completely before dipping.
Recommended cake flavor: White or Yellow
What you will need for dipping and decorating
- Assorted sprinkles/confetti
- Assorted Spring color candy melts
- Utensil of your choice for drizzle dripping
Once you have finished dipping, decorate your eggs to look like easter eggs, with different designs. Using assorted sprinkles/confetti and different colored candy melts.
If using sprinkles/confetti wait 1-2mins then apply. The candy melt should just be a little tacky but not wet.
If drizzling or making designs with candy melts, wait until eggs dry completely. If you decorate before candy melts set, the candy will be too heavy warm and heavy and will start to melt into the candy base coat and weigh on the eggs.
