Dead Man’s Toes
When the Sanderson sisters are making the “Life Potion” they must use a Dead Man’s Toe. Well, I’m not sure these Dead Man’s Toes will make you young again, however they will fill your tummy.
These Dead Man’s Toes are a great addition to the Halloween menu.
I mean it is Halloween after all, sometimes you just need to get a little Squeamish.
If you really want to get into the Halloween spirit and enjoy the squeamish side of things you can go all out.
For these I just took out a good portion of the top layer of the cocktail wiener to make it look like the nail bed.
Or you can add a small, thin almond sliver to the cocktail wiener to make it look like an actual toenail.
I mean come on how funny would that be to be stirring around in the cauldron, pick up a few Dead Man’s Toes and just happen to find a toenail in there; I mean almond sliver.
Perfect Halloween prank don’t you think?
Dead Man’s Toes
Equipment
- 1 Black Cauldron * Make sure cauldron is a thick durable plastic to handle warmth. If not, you can place a bowl deep and small enough to fit inside the cauldron.
- 1 1-2 qt Saucepan
- 1 knife
- 1 Small cutting board
Ingredients
- 4-6 14oz Cocktail wieners or 4 28oz packages
- 1-2 bottles BBQ sauce add more or less depending on your taste or serving size
Instructions
- Clean, rinse and dry cauldron, set aside.
- On a small cutting board take out cocktail wieners and ever so lightly slice off the top layer. Continue to do this until desired look is met for your Toe.4-6 14oz Cocktail wieners
- Continue to slice remaining cocktail wieners and add all of them to a medium saucepan and cover with BBQ. Heat on medium-low heat until warm. Approx 3-5mins.1-2 bottles BBQ sauce, 4-6 14oz Cocktail wieners
- Place Dead Man's Toes in cauldron and serve.
