Cake recipe to use:

Recommended cake flavor: Chocolate

What you will need for dipping and decorating

  • brown candy melts
  • assorted candies
    • Petals-flattened marshmallows, hot tamales, candy corn and jellybeans
    • Flower centers- M&M’s, Skittles, Reese’s Pieces

After dipping cake balls in brown candy melts make sure to put cake pops tops down flat on a foiled lined cake pan, so they are standing straight up. This will allow you to have a flat surface to make your flowers. Allow cake pops to dry completely.

Once cake pops are set place in cake pop stand or in styrofoam block to hold while you create your flowers.

Choose your flower centers and using left over candy melts (you may have to reheat if hardened) dab some on the bottom of the candy and place in the center of the cake pop

Use your candy of choice to create your petals, using left over candy melts (you may have to reheat if hardened) dab some on the bottom of the candy and start placing them around the center of candy piece to shape your flower.

Ice Cream Cones
Ice Cream Cone cake pops

Cake recipe to use:

Recommended cake flavor: Confetti

What you will need for dipping and decorating

Fill the handle of the ice cream cone with M&M’s to use for weight. Dip half of your cake ball into candy melts and set in ice cream cone, place in refrigerator.

Once set, dip other side of cake pop into candy melt, you can do this by holding the cone base and dipping cake ball first or you can hold the cone sideways and use a pouring technique.

Adding sprinkles /confetti or cherry on top (red M&M) do this 1-2mins after dipping. You want the candy melts to be tacky not wet as the sprinkles /confetti and cherry on top (red M&M) will slide off.

To make a chocolate drip on vanilla ice cream cone, make sure the white candy melts have set completely. Drip brown candy melts with spoon in the middle of cake ball to form a puddle, letting it drip along the side of the ball. (you may have to reheat if hardened)

Easter Egg Cake Balls

Cake recipe to use:

Using the recipe below, you will shape your cake ball mixture to look like eggs.

You can do this in many ways depending on how thick you want your cake shapes to turn out.

Some ideas on how to do this:

  • Using plastic easter eggs as a mold. Spray lightly with cooking spray and use either the whole egg or just half the egg. Put your cake ball mixture into the plastic egg and press to form your shape. Place in refrigerator to allow to set before dipping.
  • Candy molds work really well. Using an egg shape candy mold place your cake ball mixture into the mold pressing firmly. Allow to set before removing from mold. Once removed place on cookie sheet and put in refrigerator to allow to set completely before dipping.

Recommended cake flavor: White or Yellow

What you will need for dipping and decorating

  • Assorted sprinkles/confetti
  • Assorted Spring color candy melts
  • Utensil of your choice for drizzle dripping

Once you have finished dipping, decorate your eggs to look like easter eggs, with different designs. Using assorted sprinkles/confetti and different colored candy melts.

If using sprinkles/confetti wait 1-2mins then apply. The candy melt should just be a little tacky but not wet.

If drizzling or making designs with candy melts, wait until eggs dry completely. If you decorate before candy melts set, the candy will be too heavy warm and heavy and will start to melt into the candy base coat and weigh on the eggs.
