Mixed Drinks
Have you ever wondered why some drinks are called cocktails and others might be called Mixed Drinks?
Here are some pointers for you to determine if your favorite drink is actually a cocktail or mixed drink.
Mixed Drinks– are “one and-” so your Jack and Coke, Gin and Tonic, Rum and Coke. Or those drinks you get at Happy Hour that are well, like Vodka and Lemonade.
Cocktails– are “shaken not stirred”, so anything that has three or more liquors and a base liquid are considered cocktails as they take time to create and make, and usually require a cocktail shaker or stirred.

This drink was my first taste of Gin and I do have to say it was pretty refreshing. The Gin was not bad as compared to some reviews I’ve read for first time Gin drinkers how it can have a strong flower taste. But for first time Gin drinkers I learned while working at Total Beverage was that not all Gin have that strong flower taste and the best Gin to try for you first timers would be Bombay Saphire Gin.

Notes
When Mt. Dew Baja Blast was first launched I couldn’t get enough of it. To me that alone was such a familiar flavor, something between a Blue Raspberry ICEE mixed with White Cherry ICEE (one of my all-time favorite combos whenever there is ICEE available.) and something else that I just couldn’t quite put my finger on.
Then Smirnoff launched Red, White and Berry and of course I had to mix the two together as they both have the Cherry and the Blue Raspberry flavors. And sure, enough the best combo for a drink that tastes exactly like the Original Bomb Pop Popsicles.

I was introduced to this drink by a friend of mine when we were at a wedding in a little town out in the middle of nowhere, way out in Eastern Colorado. Two girls in their early 20’s by themselves and the only bar in town was a local “Hole in the wall” biker bar.
We decided that neither of us were sure about going to a bar in a town we had never been to. So we decided to grab a few things and head back to our hotel room.
I was then introduced to the simplest, yet most satisfying drink. Just the combo of the two is something quite relaxing for some reason. She named it Mountains of Malibu! It is now my “go-to” drink when I just want something simple, sweet, and relaxing.

My first ever Rum and Coke was made with Spiced Rum and not just Rum. I will admit that I prefer my Rum and Cokes with Spiced Rum over Rum but I will drink them both.
